Lumberyard Brewing Company: Tasty burgers and great beers

More from this show

A local staple, Lumberyard Brewing Company is a family-owned establishment that is the longest-standing operating brewery in Arizona.

With a central location in downtown Flagstaff, Lumberyard boasts a menu prioritizing rich flavors and a wide variety of beers.

The ambiance is bright and fun, with owner Kelly Hanseth describing it as “lively and very casual.”

“Check, Please! Arizona” guests enjoyed the wide variety of appetizers, burgers and desserts. Guests raved about the Irish egg rolls as the perfect starter, with a blending of Irish and Chinese flavors served with dipping sauces. Guest Mark Murphy’s go-to order is the Vietnamese burger.

“It has a crisp slaw they put over the top of it. It’s just wonderful,” Murphy said. “It’s a good lunchtime thing for me because it’s not too heavy.”

Guests also highly recommended the banana pudding, which is considered a fan favorite, served in a mason jar. Murphy praised the rich and creamy flavors, calling it “quintessential American comfort food in a jar.”

The brewery boasts having beers for every type of beer-drinker, and they are known for their award-winning beers and IPAs.

Murphy’s pro tip is to visit them for lunch to avoid the crowd, but the downtown location gives you the opportunity to explore the variety of charming spots in downtown Flagstaff.
