It’s a behind the scenes look at how museum employees put together exhibits, catalog inventory, and preserve existing works. Museumgoers can ask questions of employees and get a better understanding of how the museum operates. We also get to see the lengths a conservator goes to as she tries to repair a broken sculpture.
Phoenix Girls Chorus – The Phoenix Girls Chorus is starting their 35th season. They are coming off a whirlwind tour this summer where they were invited to sing at Carnegie Hall. The chorus is composed of five choirs for girls aged 7 – 18 and the mission is to cultivate, inspire, and empower young women to find their voice through world-class music education and performance. Artistic Director Danya Tiller and a member of the chorus will join us on set.
Arizona Artbeat: Scottsdale Cultural Council Name Change – The Scottsdale Cultural Council is changing its name to Scottsdale Arts to more clearly define its role in bringing arts to Scottsdale through its three divisions: the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) and Scottsdale Public Art. Neale Perl, the president and CEO of Scottsdale Arts, will tell more about what’s behind the name change and rebranding effort.
