For more than 40 years, American moviegoers have looked forward to summer blockbusters. It started with the movie “Jaws” in 1976. Before then, summer was a low point for movie theaters and filmmakers. We’ll hear about the history of summer blockbuster movies and how summer movies have become big money-makers for Hollywood from Kevin Sandler, an Arizona State University associate professor in Film and Media Studies.
