Patriot Guard Riders join funeral processions to honor fallen veterans

More from this show

What started as a group of veterans looking for a way to honor their fellow servicemen has turned into a national movement.

The Patriot Riders Guard’s original goal was to counterbalance funeral protestors by acting as a shield between mourners and agitators. The group now offers its services to any veteran-related event, where they show their support in an apolitical manner.

“If the Patriot Guard can bring help to those families to help them get through that awful day, then to me that’s worth it,” said Arizona Patriot Guard Riders assistant captain Mike Sullivan. “We will not forget their service to this country.”
