SNAP decline; ‘Rain Bombs’; ‘Radio That Rocked the Valley’

More from this show

On this episode of Arizona Horizon, we will discuss recent changed to SNAP benefits and how it is impacting Arizona recipients. The department said this large decline is likely due to a change in SNAP eligibility requirements that pushed many Arizonans out of the program.

We will also hear about NOVA’s new documentary called “Rain Bombs,” about the weather phenomena and how meteorologists can better predict them going forward.

Finally, we will learn about a new exhibit at the Chandler Museum about the history of radio in Phoenix. The exhibit is called “Radio That Rocked the Valley,” and will remain open until September 27, 2026.
