More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Katie Ratlief, executive director of Common Sense Institute, discussed a new report that ranks Arizona as one of the least affordable states to live across the country.

Since 2019, household costs in the state have risen faster than the national average, with residents spending about $19,300 more per year on essential expenses compared with the national average of $15,400.

We also spoke with Vernon Morris, associate dean at ASU New College, as the school partners with the U.S. Department of Energy for a first-of-its-kind monsoon study.

The goal of the study is to improve understanding of the many variables that influence monsoon storm development, movement and intensity, leading to better forecasting and ultimately helping protect life and property.

Finally, Toni Robinson, playwright & actor with the Black Theatre Troupe discussed her upcoming show “Between Masks and Mirrors.”

Featuring five characters, the production explores how people present one “face” to the public and the internal tension that arises when confronting their true selves. The characters, both men and women, represent a range of professions and personal challenges.
