Todd Blanche nomination process; open-heart surgery advancement; Tails Around Town

In this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sat down with Paul Charlton, a partner at Dentons, to discuss acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche’s ongoing nomination process. After threatening to block the confirmation, Republican Senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn said they would support his nomination.

We also heard from Dr. Paul Sorajja, Associate Director of Banner – University Medicine Heart Institute, to learn about a breakthrough procedure. The groundbreaking surgery repairs tricuspid valve leakage and eliminates the need for open-heart surgery, which can nearly be impossible for elderly patients.

Finally, Kim Powell, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Communications Supervisor, explained their new Tails Around Town program. Offered at the West and East shelters, the program is an opportunity for people to take dogs on a field trip.
