In this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sat down with Kurt Volker, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, to discuss the Iran War. U.S. forces carried out fresh strikes on Iran Wednesday, July 8, 2026, a day after Tehran targeted ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The move followed President Donald Trump’s warning that the attacks ended the ceasefire and would be met with more military action.
We also heard from Howie Fischer, Capitol Media Services Chief Correspondent, to learn about Hickman’s Egg Ranch agreeing to pay a $1 million fine and donate 3.25 million eggs after allegations that it joined a scheme to inflate prices. Federal prosecutors said the company shared pricing data that let producers coordinate and artificially raise egg costs.
Finally, we learned about the dust storm and monsoon with climatologist Randy Cerveny and Ryan Heintzman, Ph.D., Assistant Teaching Professor at ASU.
