History of using the National Anthem as protest

NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem was meant to protest the use of excessive force by police against African-Americans, but President Trump has parlayed the issue into one about patriotism. Arizona State University sports historian Victoria Jackson will discuss how the anthem is and has been used as protest in sports.
