Counties meet COVID-19 benchmarks for schools

More from this show

Maricopa and Pima counties, along with eight other counties, have met benchmarks needed to resume in-person learning. Will Humble, Executive Director of Arizona Public Health Association, warns people to not get too giddy about these results. Bars and clubs just reopened and those new metrics could influence the results of how successful hybrid learning becomes. Despite this, schools may remain open even if numbers spike. People within those school districts voted for those governing boards and can influence the decisions they make.

Humble says he’s in favor of direct democracy and local decision making when it comes to the school board.
