Arizona Job Outlook, PHX Rescue Mission: Code Red, PHX Zoo: Ambassador Animals

More from this show

In this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sit down with Dale Rogers, a professor at Arizona State’s W. P. Carey School of Business, to examine the Arizona job landscape after over 1,100 workers were expected to lose their jobs due to layoffs and closures announced by employers in June. This includes major cuts at Lucid’s Casa Grande factory and the planned shutdown of a Phoenix pharmacy operation.

We also hear from Maggi Mitchell, Phoenix Rescue Mission Street Outreach Manager, to learn about Phoenix Rescue Mission’s annual Code:Red heat relief campaign. The charitable organization aims to collect and distribute 2 million water bottles to people experiencing homelessness.

Finally, Kim Richards, Phoenix Zoo Senior Zookeeper, explains the Phoenix Zoo’s team of ambassador animals. The Phoenix Zoo trains these animals to participate in educational shows, outreach programs, and media appearances.
