Phoenix Zoo features a diverse team of ambassador animals

More from this show

The Phoenix Zoo trains ambassador animals that participate in educational shows, outreach programs, and media appearances to inspire conservation.

These animals, often seen at the Doornbos Discovery Amphitheater, are trained using positive reinforcement to showcase natural behaviors up close. The zoo also brings ambassador animals to schools and events through their “Outreach Live on Location” program.

Kim Richards, Phoenix Zoo Senior Zookeeper, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss this team of animals.
