Concerns about U.S. oil supply shortage grow amid Iran War

More from this show

The war in Iran has prompted changes to the supply and price of oil in the U.S.

Since the war in Iran began on Feb. 28, 2026, exports of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz have been restricted. The oil shortage has affected several aspects of American life, including the automotive industry, industrial production and electricity prices.

Experts say the U.S. can help address the oil supply shortage by tapping into crude oil reserves or reducing gas exports.

Dale Rogers, Professor at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the current U.S. oil supply.
